CVS' Maison Dieu Vets to move to new larger practice in Dover
CVS is investing over £1 million to relocate, upgrade and grow its Maison Dieu practice on Granville Street in the centre of Dover.
This spring the surgery is being moved 500m from Maison Dieu Road to a brand new 3,800 square foot purpose-built building on Granville Street.
The new property will enable the practice to increase the number of clients it serves and significantly expand the range of clinical services it offers to pets in the locality.
The new modern building is all on one level and houses the latest veterinary facilities and equipment. Four consulting rooms are being installed to offer a greater number of appointments, along with two spacious operating theatres with the latest veterinary equipment. The site will also house a dental suite, digital x-ray and ultrasound facilities, in-house laboratory, and isolation ward for very sick animals.
To keep stress to a minimum for patients, the practice will have a spacious reception area with separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, in addition to separate dog and cat hospital wards. New walk-in kennels are also being built for larger dog breeds. There will also be a dog exercise area.
To staff the practice, two experienced vets will collectively offer a wide range of veterinary services. Four veterinary nurses, two patient care advisors and three receptionists are also part of the 12-strong team, who will look after the practice’s clients and their pets.
The new practice is prominently located on Granville Street which is on multiple public transport routes. It has its own separate entrance to provide easy access, ample parking and full disabled access for clients and animal patients.
Carol Eales, Practice Director at Maison Dieu Vets, said: “We are outgrowing our existing practice on Maison Dieu Road. We need a larger practice to continue to offer the highest level of service and quality of animal care that our clients are accustomed to. So this is an exciting move for us. Granville Street is a fantastic new site with a superb range of facilities. It’ll mean that we’ll be able to look after many patients right here and it’ll enable us to grow the number of patients we see.”
In the weeks after opening the new Maison Dieu Practice will also host an Open Day for local pet owners to view the new facilities. Here they will be able to take a tour of the new practice, see behind the scenes and meet the veterinary team.
