Celebrations Continue at ChesterGates Veterinary Specialists!
This year, ChesterGates Veterinary Specialists celebrates 20 years of cutting-edge veterinary care, especially in the field of veterinary neurology, forged by ChesterGates founder and World-renowned neurologist, Geoff Skerritt.
Therefore, it’s fitting that the hospital continues to grow its reputation as a centre of excellence for veterinary neurology by announcing that two of its clinicians, Simone Spinillo and Marco Ruggeri have passed their certifying exams for the European College of Veterinary Neurology.
Simone graduated from the University of Teramo, Italy in 2014 and achieved the general practitioner certificate in Small Animal Surgery and Neurology in 2018. Simone moved to the UK to pursue his passion for neurology and neurosurgery, and after completing his residency at a Northwest small animal referral hospital he joined ChesterGates in 2022.
Marco, originally from Lake Garda, attended the University of Milan, completed his internship in France before gaining a wealth of experience in various referral hospitals in Rome, Spain, the UK and Finland. He then undertook his neurology residency at Koret Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Israel before joining ChesterGates in 2021.
Simone commented: As a veterinary neurologist, I’m extremely proud to work at ChesterGates. The clinic has a long-standing history of excellence within veterinary neurology, and as a team we continue to deliver exceptional care to our patients using techniques at the forefront of veterinary medicine.”
Liz Bode, Clinical Director at ChesterGates and Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology said, “We couldn’t be more proud of Simone and Marco and what they have achieved. It’s lovely that as we celebrate our 20-year anniversary, the hospital that started as a small team of two and is now one of the largest multidisciplinary referral centres in the Northwest, still has one of the most advanced neurology departments in the country thanks to people like Simone and Marco.
