Hendricks, a Weimaraner from Biggar, South Lanarkshire, and his owner David Alcorn won the Gundog group title at Crufts 2024 today (Friday 8 March), qualifying them for one of just seven places in the Best in Show final on Sunday evening.

Hendricks (Sh Ch Gunalt Hendricks), aged four, and David Alcorn, who co-owns Hendricks with Gavin Ingram, were presented with their trophy in the Resorts World Arena at the NEC Birmingham by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Rt Hon Steve Barclay MP, and the pair will return to the arena on Sunday, along with six other dogs to compete for the coveted Best in Show title at Crufts.

People around Britain and the world will be watching to see which dog is crowned Best in Show on Sunday, as the final is shown live on Channel 4 and available to be streamed on the official Crufts YouTube Channel - youtube.com/crufts

Over 19,000 dogs are competing over four days for one of just seven places in the Crufts final and a chance to win the most celebrated title in the world of dogs.

Proud owner David said: "It's a huge field of competition and Hendricks is a relatively young dog so I'm not sure when this will sink in.

"He's a great dog to live with and very chilled out. He loves showing and loves the big event – he's always been the consummate show dog."

Helen Kerfoot, Crufts Show Manager, said: "Many congratulations to Hendricks and David on winning the Gundog group title today and earning a place in the Best in Show final at Crufts 2024.

"Crufts celebrates happy, healthy dogs, and the special relationship between dogs and their owners. This was clear to see today, as David and Hendricks demonstrated a wonderful bond in the ring."

Crufts takes place from 7 - 10 March 2024 at the NEC, Birmingham. For more information and results from the show, visit crufts.org.uk.
